about

All guitars for these demos were recorded with a classical 6-string through a computer microphone. I did the vocals for these demos when my roommates would leave for work. Doing vocals never gets less embarrassing, especially when you've got a painfully high voice. I worked the drive-thru mic at Burger King for two months when I was 15, and most everyone at the ordering board called me "ma'am."

All these tracks, with the exception of "Slow Move," were later taught to The Alphabet, a band I played in from June 2010 - April 2011. A full-band version of "Repeat" later appeared on one half of a 7" split with Charlottesville-based Invisible Hand as the inaugural release on Funny/Not Funny Records, a label I co-founded with Ben Schlabach and Harper Holsinger. This label still exists today, though I'm no longer affiliated, and the record is still for sale in their online store.
